The Humanities & Technology Camp in Florence
Of the most demanding domains in terms of documentation and content management is the Humanities. A plethora of sources (texts, content, links, multimedia) and its relations occupy traditional researchers and digital humanists alike. Sophisticated modeling, text mining, publication methods, and data analysis practices are some of the top issues tackled during the THATCamp Florence un-conference held in Florence, on the 23-26th March 2011. Our team presents itself and the Astroboa platform to scholars, researchers, IT professionals and policy makers gaining enthusiastic comments and insights for future implementations and collaborations.

Digital routes find their way to research community through the Astroboa Open Content Model and Platform
The research project “Digital routes: modeling land communication in Roman Crete” is being presented at the ‘Supporting Digital Humanities 2010’ conference in Vienna at 19th October, 2010. The project encompassed an interdisciplinary approach (history, archaeology, GIS) by the archaeologist and digital humanist Maria Ilvanidou. The resources were modeled and integrated in Astroboa after building an xsd schema that fit the researcher’s requirements. The sophisticated implementation allows for the results to be shareable, thus already published and uncoupled from any device or platform.
